How Sense Garden Works

Sense Garden is a multilingual word sense disambiguation demo. Choose a language, enter a sentence, and select a target word or short expression in context.

For the BabelNet option, the app retrieves candidate synsets and asks Tiny Aya to pick the best meaning. For the generated-gloss option, Tiny Aya writes a definition for the target in context, then GTE multilingual ranks the retrieved synsets by semantic similarity.

BabelNet lookup works best with a lemma. If an inflected form does not return good candidates, manually enter the lemmatized form of the target word.

Loading the models starts a browser download. On a fresh cache, expect a download of roughly 2-3 GB, depending on which model files your browser/runtime selects.
